Operations

By combining human ingenuity with AI, we are revolutionising the manufacture and supply of medicines. It’s how we are supporting the launch of 20 new medicines and being recognised as one of the world’s top 10 most advanced, innovative and sustainable supply chains.

Transforming how medicines reach patients

At AstraZeneca, our Global Operations teams play a vital role in delivering life-changing medicines to millions of patients around the world. Every day, we combine science, technology and human ingenuity to ensure our medicines are manufactured to the highest standards and reach patients safely, reliably and sustainably.

Our network spans 25 production facilities across 15 countries and is powered by around 16,000 colleagues representing more than 100 nationalities. Together, we manufacture billions of medicines each year — from tablets and inhalers to advanced biologics and complex injectable therapies. Behind every product is a global team working with precision, care and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes.

But Global Operations today is about far more than manufacturing. We are transforming how medicines are developed, produced and delivered by harnessing the power of digital technology, advanced manufacturing and artificial intelligence.

People at the heart of transformation

Technology is enabling new possibilities, but it is our people who bring them to life. Across Global Operations we are investing in the skills, capabilities and culture needed to thrive in an increasingly digital and data-driven environment.

We are building an AI-empowered workforce, supporting colleagues to develop new capabilities while creating a culture that encourages curiosity, collaboration and continuous improvement. Whether working in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, digital, quality or sustainability, our teams play a critical role in shaping the future of medicine.

A place to grow and make a difference

Joining Global Operations means working on problems that matter.

You’ll be part of a global network that supports the launch of new medicines and ensures existing treatments continue to reach millions of patients. At the same time, you’ll be working in an environment that’s constantly evolving — adopting new technologies, developing new skills and finding better ways to operate sustainably.

It’s challenging work, but it’s also deeply rewarding. Because every improvement we make — whether it’s increasing efficiency, improving quality or strengthening our supply chain — ultimately helps patients access the medicines they need.

In recognition of our world-class digital transformation, we are delighted that two of our most advanced manufacturing sites in China and Sweden have been awarded World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Lighthouse Network status. These sites join a community of other manufacturers across industry sectors that are pioneering the use of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies such as AI and big data analytics to drive productivity, enhance efficiencies, champion workforce augmentation and environmental protection.

If you have the passion and the drive to accelerate growth and make people’s lives better – then this is the place for you.
